Our mom (mum) took us down to the beach this afternoon to play on the rocks. Though the sun was shining, it was chilly, so we wore winter clothes.

Ulla Designs created Chloe's outfit.
Karensyarn designed Demelza's clothing for a Sasha doll. Happily it fit Kish Seasons, too.

Repainted Helen Kish doll, Seasons Fall Autumn 16-inch all-vinyl doll with joints at shoulders and hips. Seasons Fall was repainted (painted) by Nancy Lee Moran in 2008 and renamed Demelza. The doll wears custom vintage-linen dress with embroidered flowers and green-crocheted trim, made by Hankie Couture. More of Marsha's original creations can be found on her website www.hankiecouture.com. There is an impressed mark on the back of the doll head: 1997 Kish and Company 97F. Seasons Dolls were designed by Helen Kish and produced by White Balloon International Company of Spain. Most Seasons dolls' certificates have the year 2003 on them

Nancy Lee made a hair decoration of glass beads that compliment the stitch colors of her dress. It includes a crystal Millefiori Water-Drop Bead. In Italian, millefiori means a thousand flowers. This type of bead is made using slices of multicolored glass rods (canes).

About these dolls . . .

EYES: Chloe's eyes are subtle lavender-grey, a delicate mix of transparent layers. She has many fine eyelashes (upper & lower) and feathered eyebrows using varied colors.

CHLOE: Helen Kish introduced in 2007 her Chrysalis Series of 14" ball-jointed vinyl dolls. The girls as of 2009 are Lark, Piper, Raven, Song, and Wren. Chloe is a Lark doll.

ASHLEY & DEMELZA: 16" Seasons vinyl dolls were designed by Helen Kish and produced by White Balloon International Doll Company of Valencia in Spain. They were distributed in the USA by Paradise Galleries. These Seasons dolls were produced in 2003 (date on certificate) and are RETIRED.

COLOR & PAINTING: Some computer screens may modify the color of the art. Some may make the image lighter or darker than it is. The doll has finer detail and more subtle coloring than a computer-jpeg-photo can show.

After removing all factory paint, I am using artist-grade alkyd-oil paints (in thin translucent glazes) with the addition of alkyd resin to make the paint surface become as flexible as the doll’s vinyl skin and to make it adhere well. I finely sand the surface before painting it for better adhesion.

Nancy Lee Moran's POLICY TO SHOW RESPECT FOR HELEN KISH & other doll creators is as follows:
The dolls I use were factory painted. I would never repaint a doll that the artist (Helen Kish) had painted herself, such as some of those in the Kish Signature Line. I would not paint one in a limited edition of fewer than 300 (preferably 500 or more). I consult the beautiful book I own: Helen Kish: The Artist and Her Dolls by Louise Fecher (hardcover published in 2006). I am NOT affiliated with any doll company, creator or manufacturer.
