"Side of the Pool"

Lynell Morgan took this photo when she and Nancy Lee visited the Printery House, a Catholic publisher of greeting cards, in the Missouri countryside one summer. We walked to nearby Conception Abbey, where we spied this frog. Nancy Lee Moran painted over the black and white photograph with oil glazes, adding each color by hand. The original 14x10 art was sold by Lewis Art Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska in 2006.

Child’s Page

If a child is seeing the art with you, here is a story for him or her, from a froggy friend:

Long Toes
Sitting here in the shade is mighty fine, where flowers make sweet perfume. How do you like my long toes? I stay just one leap away from the water, so I can leap to safety if a snake or bird happens by.
